💼 Roles and Responsibilities
- Review and analyze inpatient medical records for accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding.
- Evaluate clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and coding integrity.
- Identify principal and secondary diagnoses and assign POA indicators.
- Validate MS-DRG assignments, including CCs and MCCs.
- Identify hospital-acquired conditions (HACs) and patient safety indicators.
- Evaluate AI-generated clinical notes and summaries.
- Code diagnostic and procedural information using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
- Identify and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Provide written feedback on coding errors and complex cases to improve AI model performance.
🎯 Required Skills
🎓 Eligibility Criteria
- Active certification such as CIC or CCS, or other relevant AHIMA/AAPC certification such as RHIA, RHIT, or COC.
- Previous experience in inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.
- Access to updated official ICD-10-CM/PCS coding books and Coding Clinic guidance.
- Currently working in inpatient medical coding, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), or a related documentation role.
- Availability of at least 10 hours per week.
